CEPCEB Seminars 2009

BPSC 252: Special Topics in Botany

Description

In 2002, CEPCEB initiated a special seminar series (BPSC252: Special Topics in Botany) in which CEPCEB faculty and postdocs, as well as invited prominent speakers, are scheduled to present and discuss noteworthy research discoveries in the field of plant biology. The seminar series offers a wonderful opportunity for collaborations to be established across disciplines, institutions and levels of experience. The series is sponsored by the Institute for Integrative Genome Biology and conducted on a weekly basis. The coordinators for the 2009 seminar series are Hailing Jin (Chair), Xuemei Chen, and Tao Jiang.

ChemGen IGERT Speakers:
The series also features prominent scientists with expertise in chemical genomics, chemistry, engineering, bioinformatics/computational sciences, and cell biology from the Center for Plant Cell Biology's ChemGen IGERT (Integrative Graduate Education and Research Trainee) program (in blue below). ChemGen IGERT graduate students are directly involved in inviting and hosting these speakers, which enhances their exposure to outstanding scientists and provides contacts that may be of value for many years to come.

IIGB Speakers:
The IIGB Special Seminar Series serves as a forum for discussion of timely and intellectually stimulating issues in genome biology with leading scientists and scholars. Each year, the Institute for Integrative Genome Biology hosts high-profile speakers who present lectures on his or her area of expertise. For more information on these seminars, please visit the IIGB Special Seminar page.
